Spring time!

Phew time flies when you have a toddler!
Before I started to write this post, I re-watched the videos from our last post and am amazed with how much Sierra has changed even in the last 2 months! She has more hair!! We may even be approaching a hair cut here soon- not that it's in her eyes or anything, but more to tame this mullet she seems to be developing. She walks and runs even faster than before- and climbs... on everything! Sierra is still a delightful, energetic little girl- with an increasingly independent attitude. Her two favorite words (by a large margin) are "NO!" and "MINE!" (All caps and exclamation points are actually required- those two words are always shouted forcefully.) Other favorites are Mama, Papa, up, please, more, book, eat, Elmo, Izzy, MOE! (she also shouts this one, frequently in poor Moe's face)... remember when we thought she'd never talk? I'm sure Moe does....  (world's most patient dog, really, it's incredible).

She's learned how to use a spoon, comb her hair, brush her teeth, walk in heels, and a few other things too...

Riding the hay-cow at her school's rodeo day.

 Cutest cowgirl ever!!

Mama finally got brave enough to try finger paints at home. I've never appreciated her teachers enough...

She discovered her shadow on the way out of school one day. :) It took us at least 10 minutes to walk to the car.

Hey, hey- would you look at my sweeeeeeet ladybug ride?

The energy never ends! HI MAMA!!

We've been sick ALOT this spring. I don't think we've all been healthy for more than 2 weeks in a row since January. Sierra has developed an interesting method for hiding from nurse Maud. No glasses and Sierra's screaming. Put on Mama's glasses and everything's peachy.

Easter! Time for food, family, and fun! Sierra had SO.MUCH.FUN all weekend. She was beyond exhausted every evening, but was never ready to stop. We enjoyed SO much getting to watch her play with all of her cousins! (No first cousins yet, but lots of wonderful second cousins to enjoy Beeville with!)
Sidewalk chalks with Abby, whose name she learned to say that weekend, much to her delight (both of them).
Rockstar eater. This kid loved her fried oysters!

Probably the highlight of the weekend. Live music courtesy of cousin Scott and his bandmate (from Jasper's Cast) in the garage. Sierra and Arden danced until they fell over- literally.

There's plenty more we've done in the last couple months- I'll try to share part 2 of this post soon!

Dogs, Ducks, and Sweetness

Can't type.... chasing toddler... here- watch videos!

Sierra loving Dog World (aka Beeville): Starring Captian, Cruiser, and Frida

(Kinda) Feeding the ducks at Gigi & GrandDoug's house

Taking care of her sick Papa... awwww! :)

Possibly the world's most patient dog (can you imagine people didn't want to adopt him because he looked like he had pit bull in him?!?!?). Also, the Eensy-Weensy Spider (or how ever you spell that).

A blast-from-the-past. Sierra and her Great Granny on Christmas morning 2009. We miss you Granny! :)

Catching up

I'm beginning to think this blog should be renamed "Things The Pichots Did Last Month"...

Of course, by now I'm even past that. I assume you'll forgive me if I dazzle you with pictures of an adorable toddler on Christmas morning? Oh good...

Still waking up and not sure what's going on

Oh wait, this IS fun!

Santa knew that Sierra loves books and puppy dogs- so what could be better than a book about dogs??

The true meaning of Christmas... right? mmmmmmm

Sierra was absolutely in doggie-heaven in Beeville: Zoe, Izzy, Moe, Flash, Ruger, Captain, Cruiser, Frida, and Socks- the humans were actually out-numbered. And Sierra wasn't the least bit intimidated by her enormous "cousins"- and of course they were as sweet as could be with her. :)

All dressed up!

Somehow, we didn't get any pictures of Christmas time with Chrissy's family in Sugar Land, so I'm shameless stealing Catherine's facebook pics... ;) thx cuz.

After all of our December travels, our nomadic bunch decided to try something crazy: staying in Houston for 6 whole weeks in a row! Craziness! So we just pretended to leave town and go to China. Yep, we have a miniature China just 30 minutes away in Katy that we've been meaning to visit for several years.

4,000 miniature Terra Cotta Warriors- pretty impressive.

Terra Cotta Warrior is no match for Giant Ginger Baby!
(This seemed cute at the time, but the pictures just seem creepy.)

Trying to get her to interact with him with "Where is his belly-button?"

Giant Ginger Baby on the rampage
(FYI, this place was going out of business very soon and had some of their old models laying out in the grass. I promise we weren't letting her tromp through the displays.)

Also on our list of Houston adventures was the Downtown Aquarium. Love this sweet picture.

The deadly Lionfish

For some bizarre reason, the Aquarium has 4 white tigers. A little strange and sad to have these guys in the middle of a giant city, but they're impressive to see up-close. (Yeah, that's my knee down at the bottom.) Sierra really enjoyed the big cats.

We decided it was time for Sierra's first carousel ride...

First impression, intrigued. This dolphin seems friendly enough.

Strapped in and not loving it.
And Mama's remembering why she doesn't ride these things...

LET ME OFF THIS CRAZY RIDE!!

I think that gets us caught up.... see ya again soon! :)
