2 month update

Needless to say, it's been a wild few weeks around here. Sierra has officially "retired" from her fulltime position at daycare/preschool to be my co-Mama, a job she has been quite happy to throw herself into.
Sierra's last day at the CDC!
Co-Mama taking over some story time duties.

Let's play 'Caption-This-Photo'...

Thanks to some brilliantly organized people at Mother Goose Time, we've instituted "Sierra School" at home. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this home-based preschool curriculum. Each month, an adorable school bus box arrives at my doorstep with lesson plans, workbooks, charts, calendars, etc- and a nice baggy with all of the needed materials for each day. All I have to do is grab that day's bag and it has all of her supplies for a craft and a couple activities. She LOVES it. And it's a sanity-saver for me! There's just enough in each day to fill up a couple hours total- we still have plenty of time for free play and errands and all that- but I have quick-draw crafts (no digging through the cabinets for pipe cleaners or daily trips to Hobby Lobby) and ideas for new games when she hits a lull. BEST.IDEA.EVER.
B is for Beaver! and Baby!

Laundry Day is good for learning about bubbles!

But 3 year olds need socialization (and Mama needs a break), so Sierra has gotten to enjoy some summer camp days at St Luke's Day School. Her first session was astronaut themed, so we followed up with a visit to Space Center Houston to feed her newly-discovered obsession with all things rocket-propelled. We can no longer get in the car without hearing "Mama, let's talk about what's in outer space."
Landing the Shuttle like Cousin Eileen!

"Little-Big-Man" August has filled his days with eating, sleeping, pooping, eating, sleeping.... you get the picture. The typical hard-knock newborn life. He excels at eating. There are IFOCE medals to be won in his future. I actually had to check with his pediatrician to make sure his world-record rate of weight gain was ok (it is). He put on roughly a pound a week for the first 6 weeks, but has finally slowed a bit. So his official 2-month weigh-in was as follows: (as of June 26 when I started writing this post! :P)

Weight: 14lbs 7 oz (95%ile)
Length: 24.3" (89%ile)
Head circumference: 16" (64%ile)

(Now that I'm getting around to publishing this post 2 weeks later, he's up to 16 lbs even! Sheesh!)
Feed me!!

Looking back at pictures of Sierra at this age, she looks downright scrawny at only 11 lbs! I see some expensive trips to HEB about 13 years in my future. But as long as he keeps sharing these great grins with me, I won't be complaining. :)
Best part about not working? Snuggling with these two sweet faces in the mornings!
Precious!

How could I forget? Sierra's first dance recital!A major event around here! Our little ballerina had SO much fun dressing up and showing off her moves on the big stage.
Ballerina line, do not cross.
The sweetest (and littlest) ballerina leading everyone on stage. I love how she's looking at her toes. :)

Since then we've been riding the waves of summer in Houston and in Beeville.
Jumping the waves in Corpus.

Pool side naps. Ahh...
Photography lessons with Papa.

Taking the boys out for a "Ranger Ride"

Random underwater fun. Somebody loves swimming!
